Thin suspenders (an inch or less in width) create a more modern look. Medium width (1.25 to 1.5 inches) is considered standard, while wider ones (1.75 inches or more) are more retro. Suspenders may use buttons or clip-on attachments and have different “back” styles (like a Y or X shape).
