Harold Caswell opened the doors to Caswell's Men and Boys Wear in the fall of 1959 at the Town & Country Plaza. At that time, the store consisted of 1200 square feet of men's and boy's clothing consisting of work wear and dress clothing, as casual wear was not a factor at that time in history.
In 1989 Jamie Caswell expanded the store to 2300 square feet. With that came change in name to Caswell's. The name was shortened as a full line men's wear and ladies wear are now sold.
In August 2007 Jamie and son Michael expanded by moving to a new location in the Mount Carmel Centre on Montrose Road just about five minutes away from their old location. The new location offers ample free parking larger retail space to display merchandise and easy access just off the QEW. Caswell's now carries new lines such as Coppley Clothing, Horst and Klaus Boehler dress shirts and the Hush Puppies shoe line.
